 “Philips CD4452B/37 DECT 6.0 Dual-Phone Bundle” 2009-09-23
By J. Levy (Texas)
I made the mistake of purchasing the phone with 5 handsets. It looked good and I needed new phones. Big mistake! The voice quality is poor…constant static, echoes. Calls automatically disconnect when engaging the speaker feature. I frequently use my cellphone at home because of the frustration I experience trying to communicate with the Philips dect phone. I will be replacing the entire bundle after less than two years of use. I do not recommend this phone.

“Don’t Let The Looks Fool You” 2009-07-22
By A. Willis (Arizona)
I have had this phone for a couple of months now. Just about every negative review listed here on Amazon is true about these phones. I do not need to run down the list because many others have already done so. As far as my two cents…re-read the title, enough said.

“By far the worst phone I’ve ever owned!” 2009-07-01
By Teresa Martinez
I have 2 sets of this phone, 1 in my home and 1 in my office. They both started out great, very clear and battery life held well. After a few months at the least they started producing a lot of static. The charge would hold for a while, but not nearly long enough. I have literally had the phone on the base all night and use it for maybe 10-15 minutes and it would die. I could never use the speaker phone because it would automatically kill the battery and need to be charged.

Now, I’m assuming that by the reviews not every one has had these problems. I’m just basing it on the fact that I have 2 separate sets purchased at 2 different times and from different stores.

Like I said, literally the worst cordless phone I’ve had.

“Caller ID: it’s like using rocket science…” 2009-06-18
By 80’s Lady (KY)
The battery life of this phone is awesome as well as its being unbelievably clear a long range from the base. I love the optional ringtone settings. I program the numbers of friends and family to a certain ringer id and know who is calling right away, however, it rings once with the regular tone, but you have the option to turn the first ring off altogether to eliminate this. I do wish that they had spent a little more of this effort on the caller id function. I am not sure how it is everywhere else, but where I live cell phone calls show up the name of the area they are from and the number…except on this phone. It only shows the name…which is a problem because all the people I know who have cell phones have them through the same company…so they all show up exactly the same on the caller id. Also, if you are looking to redial a call from the caller id, it is almost impossible to pull up the number to dial and (this could have been due to my ignorance, and if so then it is too complicated anyway) say I wanted to call someone in my same area code, well, if you dial the number from the caller id then it automatically dials the area code…huge problem! Also, if you want to dial a long distance number from the caller id, there is no way to ad a 1 in front of the number to dial it properly. The only solution I could find was to have pen and paper ready, push the talk button from the id function, allow the phone to dial the number as it is displayed, white it shows the number being dialed, write it down, hand up (because you are going to get the operator anyway because it either puts the area code on the local area call or it doesn’t ad a prefix 1 to make an out of area call) and then dial it again manually! Plus just to check the missed calls you have to press about 3 buttons…way too complicated. This was such a mess that after having the phone for just a few months, I am replacing them with AT&T phones; we’ll see how that goes! I rely on my caller id function a lot and had a cordless phone in the past, made by AT&T that was very user-friendly in that you could pull the number up of a past caller and just press the number 1 and dial the long distance, or program your area code in the system and it would omit that from your local calls altogether. I think that function should be added to this phone as well as making the caller id display show 2 lines(the name AND number) and this phone would be PERFECT, but those are major issues for me, so I would recommend another brand. Also, a family member purchased this phone the same day I did and she hated it as well and replaced it long before me, luckily she had the receipt and box and simply exchanged hers for another.

“Looks better than it is. Just OK” 2009-06-13
By Jan Borge

I have had this phone for 8 months. Here are some comments:

Poor function layout.

There always seems to be 1 more button press to do anything than nessary. I actually had to read the manual carefully to setup some functions.

Horrible Battery Life

All three phones we have are really bad for battery time. Don’t bother use the speaker phone it just sucks power like nothing.

If you forget to put the phone on the charger, it will be dead in less than 2 days.

I cannot recommend this product. There are better phones to be had.
